The Back to Black List
WARNING : This will offend anyone disinterested in or opposed to uplifting and restoring people of AFRICAN descent.
Get armed. Get yourself a registered gun. Learn how to use it for self-defense.
Relocate into Black communities. Place your children in predominantly black schools.
Take your money out of white banks and invest in Black financial institutions
As much as possible, stop buying things from white businesses and spend with or create a Black business.
PRAY for strength to sacrifice these small things. Don’t let apathy set. Do something productive for us.
Be positive and optimistic and filled with hope. There really is no room for anything else if we want to see change. Let’s all just be change agents.
Turn off all major news outlets! Watch TV ONE, listen to local community radio, buy black newspapers or read them online, find some blog radio stations and podcasts. “If you’re not careful, the newpapers will have you hating the people who are being oppressed, and loving the people who are doing the oppressing.” - Malcolm X
NEVER forget that the system wasn’t designed to include you: “Persons of African descent cannot be, nor were ever intended to be, citizens under the U.S Constitution.” - Decision write-up by the SCOTUS for the Dred Scott Case
Focus on the work we can do outside of policy. Politics aren’t the only answer. “A little less complaint and whining, and a little more dogged work and manly striving, would do us more credit than a thousand civil rights bills.” - W.E.B Dubois
Read, think and discuss. Begin with “Powernomics” & “Black Labor, White Wealth” by Dr. Claude Anderson, “Mis-Education of the Negro” by Dr. Carter G. Woodson, “Black Reconstruction” by W.E.B. DuBois, & “Black Economics” by Dr. Jawanza Kunjufu
